Job Description
- Read shipping notices, and other specifications
- Inspect product to determine size and shape of container, materials to be used, and types of supports and braces to be used
- Lay out dimensions
- Use power saw to cut materials to size
- Assemble materials with nail gun and drill
- Place product in container
- Bolt heavy pieces to bottom of container or skid
- Wrap and pad product with packing material
- Build crate around large or odd shaped articles
- Attach identification labels or stencils containing such information as shipping destination, weight, and product content on crate
- Comply with daily production requirements to meet specified delivery dates
- Work to minimize waste in all areas
- Maintain a safe work environment through understanding and following safe work practices and policies
- Prepare foam molds for shipping
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shipping instructions
- Light carpentry experience, required
- Forklift experience a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively
